Paris is always the fashion week of the fashion weeks. I mean yes, London, NYC and Milano are trendsetting and big names like Gucci, Prada, Burberry and Proenza Schouler are showing off there.
But as soon as the fashion cirques hits Paris the standard is set. That city gives us anxiety even if it is not fashion week, because of all the ”Parisiennes” running around. They are chic without having to lift a finger. Stella, Sacai and Chloé gave me two things that are important in order for me two fall in love. Is it wearable? But most important, contrasts, I am all about contrasts.
So the shows in Paris are always highly anticipated and talked about. The pop-up collection for me this year was definitely Sacai. It was all about the contrast between army-cool and flower-girl, War and Peace as Style.com put it. But it was also about other clashes, flowy and stiff, feminine and masculine or strictly cut with a more free silhouette. All of it wearable, and not just on the runway.
The Chloé girl was cute. But not cute in the girlie way, cute but confident and chic. Cute the parisian way. At the first look you got the impression the collection was the cute-bohemic kind of collection, with the knee-high gladiator sandals, the embroidered dresses and the flowy blouses. Put the again there were two piece suites in grey, working-class-hero jumpsuit in denim and slick black numbers. The black did a lot to the collection, perfect in addition to the lights pastels, the burnt orange and the nudes. This collection as well, every single look, Trés wearable.
Stella McCartney is as always the working woman´s best friend. Put in the cheesy way ”For the woman on the go”. But that is actually true. Last season we saw lots of knits, I mean this fall is all about knit. And for the summer Stella was still working it the knit way but this time the knittng was thinner, the silhouette more flowy and the colors brighter, like a light blue shiny, knitted dress, cut asymmetrical. As the other two collections all of it was wearable.
